Properties and how to use By using Proofide, leather will keep smooth and retain ist support and comfort. It was specially formulated from natural ingredients to condition, preserve and shower proof your saddle. Brooks Proofide is economic; you will need only a small amount of wax when you apply it to your saddle. Apply Proofide only on a dry saddle. In case your saddle got wet, let the leather dry naturally before treatment.

Using a soft cloth, apply a small amount of Proofide to the finished side of the leather. Allow the Proofide permeate until the surface is dry again. After that, use a soft cloth to polish your saddle. A new saddle should be treated with Proofide more often, as it helps to assist the "breaking-in" process. When your saddle is really comfortable, it is recommended to use Proofide approx. every 1- 3 months, depending upon how much you ride and of course weather conditions. For new saddles, it is generally recommended to apply the wax also once from underneath (here you do not have to polish it off). Like that, your saddle will also be protected form underneath, e.g. against splash water.

This treatment (from underneath) need not be repeated under normal conditions.
